SNCF RESEAU has defined a minimum period of 2 months before rail traffic is restored on the railway line from Culoz to St. Michelle-Valloire and Modane, in the border region between France and Italy.
At the moment, the clearance operations managed by the French state services, including the purge of the rocks, the highway security works, and the restoration of the railway tunnel superstructure stressed by the rock overload, led SNCF RESEAU’s Technical Teams preparing a work plan which produced the above-mentioned 2-month closure forecast.
