Croatia-Service Disruption Notice: Freight Train Derailment and Temporary Re-routing

Dear Customers,

On October 9, 2024, at 10:44 p.m. at the entrance to Karlovac railway station, five freight train wagons (tanks) of ENNA Transport carrier derailed. There were no injured persons, and no contents leaked from the wagons. The police and firefighters are on the field, as well as employees of HŽ Infrastruktura.

The railway line is closed for train traffic, and passenger transport will be carried out by replacement buses on the Draganići – Duga Resa route until the site of the event has been remediated.

The freight trains to/from Rijeka are re-routed effective midnight 11/12 October, between Pivka- Ilirska Bistrica (SLO) – Šapjane (HR) – Rijeka, with daily 4 pairs of trains, lifting up the actual opining hours regime and so open non-stop, 24 hours.

Additionally, Gyékényes (HU)-Koprivnica (HR) border crossing is closed. The trains to/from Koper or further to Italy are re-routed via Őriszentpéter (HU) and Hodoš (SLO).
