Legal basis
The basis for this cookie notification is the amended Electronic Communications Act (Official Gazette of the RS No 109/2012; ZEKom-1 for short) that came into effect at the beginning of 2013 and implemented new rules regarding the use of cookies and similar technologies for storing information or accessing information that is stored on the user’s computer or mobile device.
What are cookies and why does the website need them
A cookie is a small text file that is downloaded onto the user’s computer when they visit the website and it usually contains:
- the name of the server from which the cookie was sent;
- the cookie lifetime;
- the value – usually a randomly generated unique number.
The cookie itself does not contain or collect information. However, if it is read by the server in conjunction with the browser, it can help the website implement more user-friendly services – for example, by remembering previous purchases or data on the user’s account. Only the server that sent the cookie can read and use this cookie.
These cookies can thus enrich the user experience on a trustworthy website. However, cookies can also be used in ways that constitute a breach of an individual’s privacy. Cookies may be stored for various lengths of time; they may be stored for the length of the browser session or much longer.
What cookies are used on the website and why
On the website, we use exclusively cookies that are permitted in accordance with the ZEKom-1. The site uses only cookies necessary for the functioning of this website. For recording page visit statistics, we use a system that records only the session cookie and does not track your further behaviour on the website or in connection with other websites. By continuing to use this website, you agree to the use of the cookies described below.
